Oconaluftee (By the River) was created on a beautiful Spring day on the banks of the Oconaluftee River in the Smoky Mountains! Oconaluftee (By the River) was created on a beautiful Spring day on the banks of the Oconaluftee River in the Smoky Mountains. When I look at this picture I remember the sound of the running water, the mist all around as the water from the spring melt and rains moved downstream. I recall finding just the right spot to include the amazing tree root and boulders in the foreground. It was such a peaceful moment. Awarded 1st Place while competing against 54 other photographs in the Adult Division of the Bicentennial Art Center's Annual Midwest Photography Show. Awarded Honorable Mention in the 2013 Wabash Valley Art Guild Juried Exhibit. Awarded 1st Place in the 2017 Celebration of Caring Juried Exhibit at Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
