Built by Captain Joseph Balsey in 1880, this bridge is one of three Howe Single Through Trusses to still exist. Previously located on the main road to Nashville until State Road 135 bypassed it in 1936, it now sits just south of where SR 135 and SR 45 intersect on Covered Bridge Road. This covered bridge is the subject of more covered bridge photographs and paintings than any in Indiana.
